Planetshakers Awakening Conference 2015!

Planetshakers ticket band

This week, I spent my time attending the annual Planetshakers Awakening Conference! I have always wanted to participate in Planetshakers' events, and I finally had the time to attend this year's conference :)

In case you don’t know, Planetshakers is an adults and youth movement that began as an annual conference and grew into a ministry and church in Melbourne, Australia. Planetshakers revolves around empowering a generation to win other generations. The Planetshakers band is an Australian rock and worship band, a part of Planetshakers's ministry. Their music is a contemporary style of praise and worship tempered with mainstream rock and pop.

On the first night rally on Friday, many people from different churches in Malaysia and other countries around the world gathered together in DUMC church to worship God with the Planetshakers band. As we were singing, I could feel the Holy Spirit really working its way to touch us through the lyrics. We jumped, danced, cheered, and praised the Lord, and I'll never forget that wonderful feeling I had during worship.

On the second day, I didn't attend the Pastors and Leaders' session as I didn't purchase the Gold ticket. My Silver ticket only included the breakout sessions and priority seating. So I went for the night rally, and again, the whole church was filled with God's people worshipping Him and praising Him for His greatness.

Pastor Sam Evans was preaching later that night, and she was talking that our God was named Emmanuel (meaning God with us), and He'll never leave nor forsake us all. I was touched by her sermon, and many people were healed and saved on that very night.

On the last day of Planetshakers' Conference, I attended their morning rally, their breakout sessions, and the night rally as well. During the breakout session, I went for the Vocals class conducted by the great singer in the Planetshakers band -- Chelsi Nikkerud. I have learned so much from her, such as the right techniques used to sing, and the proper attitude and posture during worship. I wish I could get a picture with Chelsi, but sadly there was no chance :(

Overall, I really enjoyed these three days. I have never felt the Holy Spirit filling the place so greatly that all of us were so committed we jumped and cheered and cried for the Lord. The sermons from Pastor Russell Evans, Sam Evans, Rudy Nikkerud, and Neil Smith were all filled with the Lord's fire, and the fire was bursting out for us to help the nation, and bring a difference into the generation. God is really good.

Some Artsy Stuff!

Hello guys! First of all, I would like to apologize for not blogging for more than a week! :( I was quite busy with my studies, but I had some fun activities as well. So, I spent the past week doing some artsy stuff, and I was really happy that so many inspirations are filling into my mind, and helping me create wonderful things.

It has been so long since I drew my last portrait, which was a portrait of a Youtuber named Zoella (Zoe Sugg). So last week, I decided to resume my artwork, and I drew the queen -- Lorde.

A few days after I drew Lorde, I decided to do some crafts or just some DIY stuff. I bought a B5-sized plain tote bag from Muji for RM4.90, and some Sharpie fabric markers. I searched for some Scripture verses back at home and started doing my typography thing on the tote bag.

This is the outcome:

There's two people I would like to thank in this blog. Without them, I would never discover my art talent. First, I would like to thank Sally (INSTAGRAM: @sallychang_ ) for giving me so many tips and advice about portraits, especially the facial part, which is also my weakest part in drawing portraits. Second, I would like to thank Tian Huey (INSTAGRAM: @tianhu3y) for giving me inspirations to try so many new things, such as the recent tote bag I did. Both of them are great, talented artists, and I hope to learn many more things from them. Do check their Instagram pages and give them a follow!

That's all for now. More events are coming up in my calendar, so stay tuned for more interesting stories!

The Morning After

The Morning After :)
This morning, I went to a cafe that was located quite near from my house, called The Morning After. Being an artistic and a Tumblr person, I was amazed at the cafe's interior designs when I stepped into the cafe. I decided to take some pictures of their menu, tables, chairs, lights, posters, and so forth.

After taking the pictures, I sat down and ordered The American Dream, Club Loaded, and a hot chocolate. These two main courses are my favorite for the moment, and of course I recommend you readers to try them. The hot chocolate's not bad as well!

This morning's breakfast was a little pricey, but it was worth it because the fine food just made my day! Before I left the cafe, I ordered another drink, called the Lambda Juice. I chose the tropical flavored one, and it had some fruit pulps in the bottle. I recommend that you try this because it's refreshing!

That's all for today :) I'll blog about many more things soon, so stay tuned! Until then, here are some photos I took from The Morning After. Enjoy!

Healthy Living

This morning, my family and I went to Ampang to climb the Bukit Kembara (aka Bukit Indah) Hill with Uncle Ong Hock Siew and some of my friends. We arrived at around 8.15am and started hiking at 8.30am.

Let's go!

We walked up the hill for a while and stopped at a rest area. Uncle Ong then took out his ukulele and began playing while singing some oldies songs, which I've never heard of hahah! After taking some rest, we decided to continue our journey again.

We walked slowly, and soon we came across an old reservoir, known as the Ampang Impounding Reservoir which was one of the earliest waterworks constructed in 1892.

Hey, it's me :)

We took some photos of this old reservoir, and continued to hike to the top of the hill. The paths of the Bukit Indah hill were steep, but they were well maintained with rope, railings, and some easy steps.

We hiked for about 4 hours, and decided to head for lunch at Cheras Sentral. We had our lunch at The Common Room.

I ordered my favorite Mushroom Carbonara and my Chamomile Tea.

Lastly, I didn't forget to order desert! Their classic cheese cake was the best. Bon Appetite!

To all of you people out there, I encourage you to climb the Bukit Indah Hill one day. It'll definitely be a great experience and a good exercise for you! Also, I do recommend you all to go visit The Common Room and have a taste of their delicious meals. They serve great Western cuisines and nice teas.

2K15

First of all, I 'd like to wish everyone who's reading this a HAPPY NEW YEAR!

2014 has been a great year. From the beginning till the end of it, there were ups and downs, but it has moulded and shaped me into who I am today. The things I've experienced was priceless, and it has been a tough year for me. God has been so true to me, and I can see Him working in every aspects of my life. People said I've changed a lot, but I like the change, because I know this is the better version of me. I'm also really grateful that I get a chance to serve God in the Praise and Worship Team on the last day of 2014!

I won't be able to come this far without the blessing of God and the support from my family.

I'll be blogging more about my art, some cafes I love, and basically almost anything interesting that is going to happen in my life. Stay tuned!
